Which do you love best - the absolute joy of holding a book in your hands and turning the pages while curled up in bed, relaxing in the bath, stretched out on the couch, or maybe on the train or in a café with a pot of Darjeeling or an espresso? Maybe you also partake in some marginalia or annotation?
OR, are you mad keen on e-readers and the ease and convenience they bring to your lifestyle, along with the fact you can save so many books in one device?
Maybe you love both and refuse to choose a favourite? Whatever it is, here at Birch Books—as well as continuing to rehome preloved books—we are happy to announce that we now stock eBooks!
One of my reasons for doing this is to provide a platform for Indie publishers and small press, and also self-published books. I want to promote books I love too, whether they’re classics and bestsellers, or the aforesaid small press publications, because I love curating collections. Books are one of my favourite passions, whether I’m holding one in my hand, or reading from a screen. Either way, I’m eternally happy to be lost in a wonderfully wonderful story.
Another reason for doing this is that I’m always trying to reach remote readers who don’t have local bookstores selling second hand or new books in their nearest towns, so whether you love the e-readers or the sensory feel of holding a book in your hand, hopefully we have the next book you’re dying to read.
