I’ll happily admit that I can read anywhere. In bed, in the car (note: only as a passenger), waiting in a queue, while I’m cooking…I could go on. A book is portable magic and I’m never without something to read (there’s always a book in my handbag, and usually a back up as well, just in case I finish my current read before I get home).
When I have the choice to sit and read wherever I want, there are several favourite places I love to curl up with a book. One is bed, of course because bed is comfy. Another is at a cafe, with coffee—the kind of cafe where the atmosphere is warm and cozy and the delicious aroma of the coffee lingers in the air. Holiday reading is the best too, because, well…holidays. And then there is the couch in my lounge room. It’s comfortable and I can sit or stretch out, and maybe have a little nap too. The lamplight gives the room a wonderfully warm glow and I can snuggle under my (faux) mink blanket and look out every so often at the canopy of trees in our backyard.
